Eloora Shorthorns has come away from the 2-day Stock and Land Beef Expo, held at Hamilton Victoria, with a swag of championships and accolades.  On Thursday in the led interbreed show class section Eloora won junior and grand champion bull with an 18 mth old son of Broome Mississippi, while Eloora Lavendar Z50 won reserve senior champion female, with her twin heifer calves creating a lot interest from onlookers.  There was 80 entries for the interbreed show classes presided over by Duncan Newcomen, Newcomen Charolais Yea, Victoria.

 On the Friday Eloora had an outstanding day in the unled pens section of the expo having the 2 highest scoring pens and the 3 highest scoring bulls across the 40 entries of both British and European bulls.  This resulted in Eloora winning Champion Pen of Shorthorn bulls, Champion pen of British breed bulls and the overall 2 highest scoring pens.  In the individual judging Eloora Bluechip G02 won Champion single unled British breed bull scoring 92/100 (having received 50/50 for ebv’s), with Eloora Americain F22 and Eloora Atlanta F08 finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.  Eloora Bluechip G02 is the number 1 heavy domestic index bull born in 2011 at $53 and is a full brother to E. Lavendar Z50.  Judge for the Pen of 3 bulls was Andy Withers from Belmore Shorthorns, Naracoorte SA. 

Eloora also came 4th (from 39 entries) in the carcase competition with a 10 mth old charolais/shorthorn heifer (highest placed heifer).
